Sydney Cason

Founder, Out Front Tours

Sydney's love affair with travel started in college, when a study abroad semester in Morocco changed the entire trajectory of her life. After that semester, she switched her major to Middle Eastern Politics and Arabic and never looked back.

Understandably, a pull toward full-time travel followed her for years. In May of 2024, after a season of major life changes brought her priorities into sharp focus, Sydney decided to stop waiting and set out on a year of solo travel. Along the way, she began hosting group trips for her online community who'd been following the journey and wanted in on the adventure.

It wasn't until her third trip that Sydney realized she was building something bigger than just fun trips abroad. She started noticing travelers forming communities back home, making plans to reunite outside of her tours, and becoming genuine support systems for one another — some even falling in love! It wasn't just a feeling, either: when she later surveyed past travelers, over 60% said they now consider someone they met on a trip a best friend.

That's when the fun side gig turned into a mission. Sydney has always believed travel is for everyone, and that the queer community deserves to see the world just as safely and freely as anyone else. This includes the destinations the news headlines get completely wrong. So many places are completely written off as "too risky" for queer travelers that are, in reality, warm, welcoming, and waiting to be explored. She has made it her passion to bring people to those places, safely and joyfully, and to prove the narrative wrong.

With that, Out Front Tours was born.

9 Reasons to Travel with Us

our rainbow luggage tags

A few weeks before her very first group trip, Sydney’s dad asked her a simple question. He'd been messing around with creating rainbow luggage tags, each customized with traveler’s names and phone numbers and he wanted to know: ā€œwould people actually like these, or would they think they're cheesy?ā€

She knew they’d be a hit, and said yes! And it goes without saying, every single traveler loves them. Not just because they're useful, but because you know a real person made them with love, just for your trip.

Now it's become a tradition — one so central to how this all began that our logo is actually a nod to that very first luggage tag!

Better yet? Come back for a second trip, and you’ll get something to add: a custom luggage charm that's a nod to the last place you traveled with us. Our tags are meant to be a small, handmade reminder of where you've been with this community, and all the adventures you have waiting for you ahead.
